Opening Big Ten Conference play on the road in 2017-18, the Penn State men's basketball team will travel to Iowa Saturday, Dec. 2 for the first of two Big Ten games during the opening weekend of conference play, the Big Ten announced today.

The Nittany Lions then return home to the Bryce Jordan Center for a Monday, Dec. 4 tilt with Wisconsin before resuming nonconference play the remainder of the month. With today's announcement, dates are set for the entire 2017-18 Penn State men's basketball season.

During the 2017-18 season, all Big Ten institutions will play two conference games in early December to accommodate a compressed, nine-week period of games leading up to the Big Ten Tournament, being played in Madison Square Garden for the first time from Feb. 28-March 4.

The 26th season of Big Ten basketball for Penn State features four home games in January and February in addition to the Dec. 4 contest against the Badgers. The Nittany Lions will have four weekend home Big Ten games and five Big Ten squads that played in the NCAA Tournament last season will travel to Happy Valley.
